Definitely count me in. I *should* have my repaired PS3 back today and I already bought a slim to replace it. Just hope I don't run into any problems transferring my data over and deactivating my 60GB fatty.

Let me know if that works - I'm thinking of getting a new 250GB slim as I'm running out of HD and I want to know if all the DLC I have - bought and shared will still work on it without downloading again. Does it all just transfer accross?

I'm in again too. I already have a Guitar score for this one but I guess it doesn't hurt to try to improve it, especially with the low difficulty ranking for all instruments. It'll be neck in neck!

Does it all just transfer accross? Hey JC.. You can just replace the hard drive with a larger one.. unless you want to buy a slim.. All you need is a usb hard drive to back up the ps3 then swap out the ps3 hard drive and restore it. no downloading required. works the same way if you buy a new ps3.. use the same back up process to put everything on the new ps3.. let me know if you need any help Eric

Thanks Eric
I’m very confused by all this. I understood that when you ran a back up it didn’t back up your DLC. I did a back up to a USB hard drive last night and the file size was 56 GB. I have an 80GB console so about 76GB of memory and I have about 8GB of free space (the RB files is 25GB).
So I wasn’t sure why the backup file was only 56GB unless it didn’t include all the DLC – but then that would be less than 56GB in total.
I’d also head that sometimes if you replace the Hard Drive it sometimes won’t play some of your existing DLC (if it’s shared) without creating a new game save (so I was contemplating waiting for the RB3 release so it doesn’t matter).
However I then heard that transferring to a new PS3 transfers everything including all DLC (yours and shared) so that seemed like a better option. However I wasn’t sure if the new PS3 was then recognised as the one that originally downloaded the DLC (one of the 5) even though it wasn’t rather than the one it was originally downloaded on.
Basically I’m confused by the whole thing so anything you can tell me would be useful.
And I tried taking the hard drive out of my PS3 once and couldn’t get the screw to turn.

According to the instructions on PS3's site, the Data Transfer Utility requires that you deactivate your older PS3 before transferring the data. This will mean that once all of the data is dumped onto the new PS3, it will not add to the limit of 5 active consoles for DLC. us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps3/ps3_315_update/index.htmI still haven't gotten my old PS3 back (definitely today!), but I'll report back to let you know how all this works. BTW... NICE JOB CHERRY ON THE OMBFC!!!!

Thanks Eric I’m very confused by all this. I understood that when you ran a back up it didn’t back up your DLC. I did a back up to a USB hard drive last night and the file size was 56 GB. I have an 80GB console so about 76GB of memory and I have about 8GB of free space (the RB files is 25GB). most likely it compresses the data for the backup so it will be a smaller sizeSo I wasn’t sure why the backup file was only 56GB unless it didn’t include all the DLC – but then that would be less than 56GB in total. I’d also head that sometimes if you replace the Hard Drive it sometimes won’t play some of your existing DLC (if it’s shared) without creating a new game save (so I was contemplating waiting for the RB3 release so it doesn’t matter). The shared part I do not know about since I have no shared dlc except on my own console with the other psn names I haveHowever I then heard that transferring to a new PS3 transfers everything including all DLC (yours and shared) so that seemed like a better option. However I wasn’t sure if the new PS3 was then recognised as the one that originally downloaded the DLC (one of the 5) even though it wasn’t rather than the one it was originally downloaded on. Haven't heard about this but I think it goes with the Psn name and not the console. the name I first started downloading with I dont use anymore but the new name does not show the old dlc as being downloaded so I have to keep that old name just in case I need to redownload again.. wish I could combine the two somehow..Basically I’m confused by the whole thing so anything you can tell me would be useful. And I tried taking the hard drive out of my PS3 once and couldn’t get the screw to turn. I had a 20 gig ps3 to start with and I pulled out a 100 gig hard drive out of my laptop.. I did the backup and and replaced the hard drive and had no problems. had all dlc and bands and everything was as it was on the old hard drive.. I agree with vw that if you put it on a new console to deactivate it so it does not count has the five..

Nice work Cherry! First OMBFC for this competition. Woohoo!
I finally learned what this squeeze thing is for drums from watching videos on YouTube. I've managed to hit only one squeeze successfully in all my attempts but then I buggered the next note as a result. Maybe I got too excited. It's darn tough to do though, and I thought activating OD between specific 8th notes was tough.

Yes. I especially enjoy Lead, Bismuth, and Thallium. Iridium, Palladium and Cadmium are cool too.
So...Argon and Xenon sitting at a Noble Gas bar having a drink when in walks Gold. Argon quickly pipes up, "Eh you!(A-u), get outta here, this is a Noble Gas bar.
Hehe, sorry guys, I had a few too many bubbly pops tonight.
PS - vw_fetish and myself are metals heads. I believe fenres9 is as well. I think Cherry likes playing that kind of stuff too.

haha, Eh you! lol
Thanks guys.
I need help picking songs, so if you guys have something in particular that you'd like to play next week, let me know. Thanks!
Metal is my favorite to listen to, now playing on guitar is another story. But, I'll give it a shot.
Good luck, everyone.
