Looks like Harmonix is adding an API to their web based leaderboards! It's hard to see but there's a tiny link at the bottom corner of the leaderboard chart that says "API". If you click it you get a page with instructions on how to use it.
It's not live yet and they haven't said anything about it (someone just happened to notice it) but hopefully this means Keldon and Rockbandstats will be back online and working sometime soon!

I was under the impression that the initial problem with Keldon/Bongoo was that they were eating up way too much bandwidth. I'm just wondering if offering this API to the entire public is supposed to help reduce this traffic. Who knows. I just want usable leaderboard stats ASAP.

The API will allow the 3rd party sites to retrieve the raw score data much more efficiently than how they were previously doing it. Not sure if it's really intended for the general public since people will have to write code to get the data with the API and then display it in some meaningful way. Anyway it's not live yet, so no one can use it at this point... but hopefully soon!

Looks like the Keldon/Bongoo sites are back (at least their IP's are no longer blocked). Keldon stated that he has throttled back the score queries in order to limit the traffic to the leaderboard servers. This will hopefully keep HMX from blocking his IP in the future.
I can finally keep working on updating most of my terrible 3-star and 4-star performances.

The API will obviously be available to all. 99.99% of all people won't care. I'm not so sure HMX will bring the API. Maybe they figured it won't work so they unblocked the IP's.
