One of my favorite 90's bands. Mike Doughty was a great frontman, with a wonderful voice and just an insane lyricist. The band itself was years ahead of its time, finding a really great way to combine rock, jazz, experiments with sampling, and in their later work, drum'n'bass. They're also notable for being one of the first rock bands to fully embrace hip hop, and to do it in way that wasn't just dudes yelling about how angry/sad they were while a dj made generic wikka-wikka-wakka scratching noises in the background (see: Limp Bizkit, Link Park, a gajillion others). Super Bon Bon-Probably their best known song. Covered by many, but the original is still the best ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD5G8T2ESswDown To This-fun, upbeat song, a cool little sample, and I don't know, its about ankles or wrists or something? www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8OY1N_b7qYScreenwriter's Blues- Awesome beat, cool as hell bass line, chart those sampled strings to the guitar, fun beat poetry type vocal, congratulations, you have a super cool rock band song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=laIy1PgcVnACircles-Another of their bigger songs. Also the first song I ever karaokied. So epic win all around!!!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQNJjvaaMEkBlame-Not much for a guitar player to do here, but I don't care lol. www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3PX0-3UHT0

Mike Doughty's solo stuff is also pretty damn cool, and several of the songs would be lots of fun in Rock Band, like, say, Looking At The World From The Bottom Of A Well -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSNuqX3EY70
