Who here has experienced the following:
In the middle of an online jam session, mid-song the game will *freeze* for about 1-2 seconds, completely messing up your streak/combo, and throwing you slightly off sync with other players? The audio kind of skips a bit when it is frozen.
This has happened far too often for me over the past month and I'm beginning to be concerned and want to make sure it's just not my PS3 hardware. I have Verizon FiOS w/ 20Mbps-DN/5Mbps-UP speeds (should be plenty fast). Although my wireless router was a floor above me, the signal strength always registered 90-100%. I noticed that the majority of times the game would freeze was when I would receive PS3 Notification Messages (eg. someone come online or sends a message). I haven't tried turning them off, since I like seeing when I receive messages.
Yesterday, I ran a Cat5 network cable through the walls from the router upstairs and hardwired my PS3 to disable the wireless option. Joined another random band and it freakin' skipped again mid-song on one of the setlists.
I'm freakin' pissed off. Anyone else going through the same headache?

I have the same, 20/5 fios service like you and I've experienced the lag problem as you describe it maybe once or twice. I hear other players complain about it frequently so I know it's happening to them but not me at times.
What I do get (playing vocals online) is this weird thing where the entire screen appears to shake back and forth really fast, usually during the cowbell taps but sometimes it persists into the parts of the song with singing. The shaking thing happens almost every time there's cowbell taps and it's gonna blind me one of these days. It's pretty much impossible to play the game like that. It only happens playing online, never locally.
Imma get a cat5 cable too and see if that helps any but I think the lag is caused by the rockband server.
I haven't noticed the problem at all in the beatles game, but it doesn't have cowbells and it doesn't have a lot of other problems that rb2 has!

Yes have seen it happen many times.. I think it does have a lot to do with Sony's programming more then it had to fo with Rock Band.. Hopefully the patch might fix something but most likely no.. We should let Harmonix know about the problem at least..

Awesome... thanks for the feedback! At least it's not my PS3 showing signs of dying. I'd hate to be without my beloved 60giger.
I'd say it happens to me at least 2-3 times during an average 3-hour session. The funny part of it is that you are sitting there, zoned in, concentrating on this flowing waterfall of colorful jewels, and it suddenly stops! My body falls forward a bit every time when this happens. Completely trips my brain.
