Ok i'm playing catch-up for the last few weeks of DLC mostly because i've been working more hours to keep pace with our ever declining economy. I know excuses, excuses. Also, because the last few weeks of DLC are barely worth writing about, so I will keep this short and sweet
The options this week are a choice between a few tracks from Green Day's latest offering, and a handful of unlistenable/unplayable tracks from the Mayhem Tour. And trust me, unless you are a really big fan of this music, you don't want this in your library.
So you gotta go with Green Day, but which one? Well, it's really difficult to endorse any one of them over the other. 21 guns is incredibly slow and easy. Know your enemy is only marginally better. My choice....
East Jesus Nowhere
But again, i don't have any real good argument for this. The entire week is one of the biggest disappointments in recent memory. Will be playing more catch up soon!

I didn't hate Mayhem QUITE as much as you (I got some mileage out of Disposable Teens, at least), but I aggree, it was a shitty pack for people who don't like the music/aren't interested in playing stuff that difficult. And if you're not a Green Day fan, then the alternative was only slightly better. What did you think of Slayer? You used to listen to them or something, right?

I grew up listening to Slayer and love the song(mostly for nostalgia), but it's still not any fun to play at all. There is so much more by Slayer that would have been much more playable. Anything off of Seasons in the Abyss would have been fantastic. In fact that is an awesome album all around and the whole thing would make for some great RockBand tunes. I guess I understand HMX intent... to diversify and add a little something for every taste of music. But to really want to play these songs you have to both enjoy the music and play on a level of expertise that very few play on. I would imagine the number of players that fall into both those categories is a relatively small percentage.
I'm also a Green Day fan from back in the days of Dookie, Nimrod, and Insomniac. Even Warning had is merits. But these guys have tamed down so much it is almost laughable.
