I figured out yesterday how to squeeze properly on drums. I've been using scorehero to figure out the optimal path for OD and when to squeeze, but even with an FC, optimal OD path and squeezes, I fall a few hundred points short of the top scores. Any advice?

I don't know what to tell you...you may just be missing a couple full squeezes all the way...the only way to be sure is to have someone watch your score when you are squeezing. I have sorta given up on squeezing anything more than OG squeezes. I always seem to mess up if squeeze is OYB for example...guess I just haven't gotten the timing right.

Iam still not quick enough to do the oyg squeezes, like wad said I usually only do the og squeeze, other than that 90% of the time I don't even mess with them, just hit the fill and keep it moving.

Honestly, I have NO CLUE how to squeeze on drums. I was trying to teach the RB3Kids Drummer how to use paths/squeeze/whatever, but he didn't really get it. Is there any tutorials/videos/threads anywhere that i can send to him on HOW to do it? (I'm not a drummer and all, so i don't have the first clue on how it's done!)

well I did see a thread on scorehero that was created when they were first finding out about squeezes back in Rock Band, but it doesn't really explain things in a clear process, it talks about their trial and error for it. I sort of figured it out on my own, I found this rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15817 which explains the proper path and squeezes for the main disc songs for RB2, and figured I'd give it a try on something simple (I picked So Wat'cha Want) and just experimented until I figured it out. I'm starting to wonder if my lag has anything to do with why I'm not getting full points out of it.. Not sure though. IBitePrettyHard used to have a video that explained it but his original account got suspended and the video was lost.

Constble has a tutorial on youtube on how to do it...I've watched it a number of times and I still can't get it completely right. Here's the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsjFB10Tw2U

I'll second that Constble video. Back when I was trying to figure out squeezing his videos and posts around scorehero were really helpful.
Julie, you can just send your drummer to scorehero. They have a whole section on their forums with song by song breakdowns of the best pathing and squeezing. It shouldn't take him long to figure out what they're talking about it if he's really interested in figuring it out.

i think it's basically pointless to squeeze as a drummer because first of all. ur having fun playin the fill and secondly the 400 points aren't really going to do much when you are in a band. but then again if you're trying to hit the leaderboards and you're close to next place i'd say GO AHEAD!

Its definitely a waste of effort in a band setting, especially since its so easy to mess up and actually cost your band way more points then you could ever gain in a squeeze. But if you're playing solo and trying to be the next mnwildguy or whatever its a must. FC's and optimal od paths will only take you so far.

I had a look at the tutorial and still can't say I completely get it. Honestly I'd rather just have fun playing than trying to get the highest score in the World. It looks annoyingly complex, I'd rather just make up a nice fill. Very impressed by those who can do it reliably though

the best song to try it on if you really want to pratice it is I think iam paranoid all squeezes are og when I started it I would just hit the crash to end the fill and bass at the same time and my score was still 600 lower then the leaders so I was only picking up the o note, you have to hit the crash twice once early to complete the fill and then the second time really quick with the o note, then that would give you the max score on the song.
correct me if iam wrong sounds insane but if you saw somebody do it, it would be alot easier to figure out.

i just did the path for limelight for the challenge and squeezed. you hit the green slightly early, not too early, and then hit the next note that would be hidden. i doubletap the green real fast and hit footpedal, took me A LOT OF TRIES, but i finally got it down a bit.
rockbandstats.com forums has a great drum calculator for paths.
i bombed the end of the song but since i squeezed i got 1st place, and 2nd overall, so squeezing is NOT useless after all, ha!

I think I'm just starting the squeeze too early and therefore cutting out the last few notes that SHOULD be in the overdrive. or maybe I'm hitting the bass too early when I squeeze. I'm not really sure. I don't get to play in a band setting much, so I basically just go for high scores. I've also heard that BNS affects it somehow, although I'm not sure about it.
