Ok. Someone explain to me the technicalities of it.
I know in a band, I usually try to wait for everyone to be capable of popping it then wait on the drummer to bet his little warning lines, and go whenever I can after that.
Sometimes that means missing out on some gold phrases because I'm already full though.
On Challenges and Quickplay... I'm using guess work logic and luck. Cause I have no clue.
I think Jesse told me there is a way to see where the breaks are in a song for Vox so you know how to maximize it. But I don't remember it.
Help me be a better functioning vox? ;_;

well in score hero for solo play they break down all the maps. i also rely on sebrun, ski, and diva advice as well since they have down every song. in band we use to wait for the drummer but we now try and follow the singer since a 8 times pharse is worth a heck of alot more. so we try to follow the singer as much as possible unless we are full. the singer should go where needed and not worry about macthing the band and try to launch before alot of pharses. sebrun or ski probally can explain alot better then me since when i sing i hear many dogs in my hood howling.

The goal is to get the most points... You get the most points on overdrive when everyone is at there max multiplier, Every song is different and needs to be played in different ways to maximize points. The guitar and bass typically wait for drums or vox to apply overdrive because they can only hit there's at certain times. the best time to apply overdrive is when there is the most amount of notes.. If 3 people are playing and one person isn't tehn there overdrive isn't being maximized.
Rules to play by:
Get to know the song.. look at where most of the notes are for all members is at maximum..
Guitar or bass. the long notes are terrible for points in overdrive.. try to avoid overdrive during long notes or very boring parts.. some songs that is all there is so you have no choice. they should follow Vox or drums..
Drums. multiple notes is the best time look at guitar and bass and see if they are doing much is not hold of till there is a lot of notes. try and follow the singer because the guitar or bass can deploy overdrive at any time..
Vox: same thing. deploy when there is a lot of singing and keep on eye on the drums to deploy.
For solo play. it is using it when there is a lot of notes even if you can't keep the multiplier up you will still score higher then hitting a lot of long notes or areas with very little notes.
sometimes it pays to wait and sometimes you have to use it right when you get it..
guitar/bass Really using the whammy bar to build up more overdrive really helps to.. using the whammy on every long note also adds more score depending on how fast you can whammy
hope this helps..

How well does this work for you? I know when we tried it with the all stars it was pretty difficult to coordinate.

I SAY JUST GO WHEN YOU WANT !!!!! No just joking singer should be followed but as singer you should try to get to know all instruments and there overdrive paths so you can deploy when needed. if your doing vox and you have your overdrive full you should deploy it when you can cause chances are that drums bass guitar will get unison soon after. But its all pretty hard when your first time playing with people. When i bassed in rb1 Tackhead and me deploy our overdrives like we sharred same brain, but more you jam the better youll become.

I'd just like the translation for what you just said xD
I think I got it though. I don't usually play with a full band, unless I happen to get in to a freddy jam. I mostly just sub randomly. But I'd still like to know what I'm doing. Teach me oh sensei.
Cause so far I'm just randomly blowing in to the mic.

Lol xP I'll use come out and play (keep em separated) as an example of what i'm talking about here. Basically what Vox pathing is, is it's optimal overdrive usage for Vox. If you notice, some phrases are longer than others, and if you use your overdrive on the shorter phrases, or you use it in a way where you get the best points, well, you'll get a better score! Here's a couple of examples of the different paths, and below is a translation of what they mean. I listed these songs in order of difficulty (by pathing) in my opinion Basic Pathing: Come out and Play (keep em separated): 2/, 2/sk1, 2/, 2/sk1, 3/ - OR- 4/, 4/, 3Basic Pathing that ends with overdrive that you can't use: I Was Wrong: 2/, 4/sk1, EwOActivation Squeeze: Pump It Up: 4/AT-AS, 2/, 2/Early Window or Early "Woo!" xP Teen Age Riot: 3/FRS, 2/EW, 2/EW, 2/EW, 2/EW, 2/EW, 2/EW, 2/sk1EWMore-difficult Finesse Reverse Squeeze: Battery: 3/, 2/, 4/AT-FRS, 2/sk2TRANSLATION (lol): If you need tips, or have more questions, i'd be happy to answer them for ya

Jesus, I thought squeezing on drums was a pain in the ass. That gave me a headache just reading about it

it is a little easier to read in Latin, unless it is in pig Latin then it loses all context..

It means you need to wait until the very last second to activate. You should try to "squeeze" as often as you can. it gets you the best scores
